For my Final Project, I decided to find heavy addictions in my family and friends, and portray them in a way that would show how they both feel about the predicament and the reality of it. The definition of a addiction from Dictionary.com is, "The stateofbeingenslavedtoahabitorpracticeortosomethingthatispsychologicallyorphysicallyhabit-forming,asnarcotics,tosuchanextentthatitscessationcausesseveretrauma." The Addictions I captured go as follow: Coffee Addiction, Bulimia (The addiction of forced-throwing up), Smoking, Drinking, and Exercise. These addictions were all found in situations around me, and surprisingly, more then half I didn't know about prior to this project.
I learned about over exposure, and how to be incredibly conscious of the lighting when taking photos. It was great to dive into my manual and start to crack the mystery of my camera by tackling a little piece at a time. Taking the time to go out and just take pictures really made me open my eyes to notice detail while I am outside of my daily routine. I also enjoyed taking multiple photo's of the same shot, altering little settings or lighting or shutter speed.
